ANNOUNCING – “KITTY LITTER!”
Seems like our 1970s theme, together with “Rally Season” has sparked quite a lot of interest in the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa.
Judi McGrath told us: “I have just been reading an interesting article on your Facebook page about the Holden Sandman which is participating in the 40th Anniversary of the Repco Reliability Trial leaving Melbourne tomorrow, and being featured at the Show and Shine on its return.”
“I have a 1976 S11 XJ6 Jaguar and I have been accepted to participate in the 2019 spring 'Shitbox Rally.' “
Known by some as “Carmageddon”, the SHITBOX RALLY consists of a group of 250 vehicles which leave Melbourne on October 19th and drive to Townsville via Birdsville, within 7 days. An autumn version of the rally started from Perth on May 8th, and travelled via Uluru to finish in Sydney.
The criteria for acceptance is that the vehicles are not to be worth more than $1000. Every team must raise a minimum of $5,000, with all the funds donated going to the Cancer Council of Australia to be used for cancer research.
This is the 10th anniversary of the Rally and more than $18 million has been raised in that time.
Judi’s team Jaguar is called 'Kitty Litter,' which is relevant as this could be identified as “the ultimate shitbox!”
On return, the Kitty Litter team plan on attending the Euroa Show and Shine and displaying the Jaguar together with their local car club vehicles.
