ONLY THREE MONTHS TO GO …
ONLY THREE MONTHS TO GO …
It’s just three months until the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa launches its 2018 event at the Seven Creeks Park on Sunday October 7th.
The Committee has been working hard and things are progressing well, but with still a lot to do. Here’s an update of what’s in the pipeline to date.
With our show’s sponsors now finalised, the printing of thousands of flyers and window posters is complete, and will be distributed over the next few weeks. Separate flyers for motor cycles will be printed, featuring a new dirt bike category which is being features by our motor cycle manager Glenn MacDonald.
Orders have been placed for the production of over 70 trophies, Including the Shannons Insurance Best Car in Show and Best Motorcycle in Show, and the Mothers Polishes Best in Show and Second Best in Show.
Leading the way in our features vehicles this year is Darryl Twitt Motors, with a display of six cars, focussing on their new E-pace Jaguar SUV and a 2018 Ford Mustang. The E-Pace won’t be alone, as we have recruited some of the best Historic Jaguars around, including and E-type from 1961, an XK150 classic, and an immaculate Mk. 2 Jaguar as well.
One of our major historic features will be the 1923 Aston Martin racer, which will be joined by a current model DB9. There’s a story about James Bond behind that, which we will relate at a later date.
The Chevrolet Corvettes return in force, with what will potentially be the biggest gathering of the marque in Australia, outside of their national convention. Local Central Victorian Corvettes will be joined by both the Sydney and Melbourne clubs, with numbers likely to exceed 30 vehicles.
Following a lot of attention to the two Teslas which were displayed last year, the Tesla Owner’s Club is now working on a bigger attendance for 2018. We have fingers crossed for the possible appearance of a rare Tesla Roadster, which was the first to be launched.
Auto-Motive Photography has now joined with us as our new official photographer for the event, and we are currently anticipating some exciting news regarding entertainment, with a new band and MC to be confirmed in the near future.
Already, applications are flowing in for our market stalls, and food & drink stalls, so no-one will be hungry or thirsty. Adding to our famous family-friendly environment, we will once again offer free mini-train rides for children, and will have two jumping castles, a petting zoo and other attractions. New this year will be a slot-car racing track provided by our friends at Evolve, and don’t forget to say “G’day” to Blaze and Baddy, the two giant Clydesdale cross draft horses which will be pulling the wagon which offers horse and carriage rides around our event.
Yes, we have been busy, but there is still much to do. We need to complete discussions about display details with the various Emergency Services, such as the Victorian Police, CFA and Ambulance Services, all of which have been long term attractions at the Euroa Show and Shine.
Our Speedway Stand, hosted by Euroa’s Chris Mann and Shepparton Historian and Author Ray Read has catered for mainly historic speedway cars over the past six years and is looking to expand the display to around two dozen cars, including some of the top-shelf current model racers.
A recent meeting with radio station TripleM Goulburn Valley discussed our radio publicity leading up to the event In the meantime, keep a watch on the Euroa Gazette for news of coming attractions, and once again the Gazette will present their magnificent lift-out in the paper’s edition prior to our show.
